Congratulations to Dr. Kyle Quillin!

Congratulations to Kyle Quillin who defended his PhD in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering on February 27th. His presentation was entitled “Vapor-Deposited Chromium Coatings on Silicon Carbide Fuel Cladding: Multi-Scale Investigation of Structure and Performance.”

Kyle first joined the group as an undergraduate in 2015 and rejoined in 2018. He has made significant contributions to the development of Cr-coated SiC fuel cladding and expanded the group’s expertise in thin films characterization through the application of nanoindentation, XRD, FIB, and TEM techniques. Kyle also managed the group’s purchasing workflow for many year.

Kyle will be joining Fisher Barton as an R&D Engineer in March 2024.
